Does this story count as a 'little win'? I think so...
I went to the sandwich store and got a baguette, a Danish pastry and a coffee all for £3.50. A pretty good deal I thought.
If I had stayed and ate and drank those items in the cafe area I would've paid over £7 and for that the only extras I would get is a proper cup and some cutlery (all of which I'd have to return afterwards).
By ordering from the takeaway menu I got a discount but was forced to sit outside...in the GLORIOUS sunshine with a nice cool breeze.
The discounted price and nice weather constitutes a win I feel but it gets better...
The bench I sat on just outside tfaced the window of Ann Summers lingerie shop. Not only could I eat a tasty baguette but I could look at life-size soft-porn and not be tutted at by passersby. It's not my fault the bench faces in that direction so what am I supposed to do?
That must constitute as a win-win but it actually got better than that...
While sat on the bench I saw two female community police offers go in and one had 'observer' on the back of her florescent jacket. Clearly she liked to watch her uniformed lesbian friend 'in action'.
That must be a win-win-win and yet I still feel I can top it...
I later saw a primary school group go by with clipboards who were making notes on the different types of shops on the street. Two boys aged 9 about started sniggering and pointing at the displays while stood in the doorway. Their teacher wasn't half cross when she saw what they were up to but boys will be boys - good luck to 'em!
Ah, that was a fun and memorable lunchtime - anyone else had a 'little win' today?
