UAE Comedy Forum

Hi everyone, the UAE comedy scene is growing with an increase in the number of local comedians on the circuit and regular weekly gigs.

Promoters have started giving gigs to UK based comedians when they come to Dubai and there are plans to increase that and possibly arrange some tours of the UAE from September onwards.

If you'd be interested in performing in Dubai and the rest of the UAE, or just want to know more about the UAE comedy scene the UAE Comedy Forum (just a day old) is a good place to start. Introduce yourself, post videos etc.

Yes - I don't think we're too interested in this. How much drink will there be at the clubs? And can you take your girlfriends?

I actually said in the forums "I hope I never tell a joke where the audience being better informed makes them laugh less". I'll link to this post as an example next time I make that point.

The bars aren't going to run out of drinks.

Sooty, you've missed the point a bit. That sort of stuff only happens in poorer areas and when the police are involved. You can have a perfectly stressfree time if you stick to private property and gated compounds. And malls. They're pretty swish.

Better informed about what is funny?

Is it a joke if nobody laughs anyway?

You can drink in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It's just a shame all the bars are crap as covered here:
