Hi-de-hi campers! It's 1959 and the start of a new holiday season at Maplin's Holiday Camp. Thousands of holiday makers run away to Maplin's to escape the grey and bleak world of post war Britian. Experience what holidays were like in 1959 but also see your favourite characters from the popular BBC TV series of the same name in this new stage show. Filled with laughs, songs and of course those holiday camp competitions. Will Gladys Pugh, chief yellowcoat, ever win the love of Professor Jeffrey Fairbrother? Will Yvonne and Barry become ballroom champions again? Will the childrens entertainer continue to hate children? Find out in this interactive theatre experience. And don't forget to wear your 1950's holiday outfits!
This is the first production of the newly formed Abbeydale Theatre Company. An amateur theatre company encompassing some of the best talent Sheffield has to offer. All proceeds from this production go to the Abbeydale Picture House Restoration Fund.
