The bit were he's in the 'pod', waking up, reminded me a lot of how the Alien victims are 'cocooned' on the walls as the 'birth' the little alien scamps.
And some of the wording in the viral ad I just posted (the Guy Pearce one), with all it's "we are now Gods", plus some of the footage in the trailer showing humans seemingly 'infected' by something makes me believe that they may be setting the Aliens up as post-modified/infected humans. But that's just a feeling I get.
I realise that doesn't fit in with the stuff that's gone before, as the Aliens had originally never been seen, or heard of, by humans. But Hollywood's Hollywood, and anything can change.
Anyone any other thoughts?

The hype for Prometheus has got to such high levels, that it's going to be a massive let down.
Last time I got excited about a director returning to his sci-fi roots was James Cameron and look at the childish shit he squeezed out of his CGI butthole with Avatar.
I have invented a new rule - any trailer that features that 'zeeeeeuuuuung' sound from Transformers every time it fades to black and then shows an explosion is going to be a steaming pile of donkey knobs.

It maybe easier to make dinky little 3 minute virals, these were pretty cool.
Conversley the trails for Avengers look awful but I suspect the film maybe quite good.
Looks pretty but is it just a grab bag of things from the other films?
Also the charm of the big 3 was they were based like classic horror movies on innocents stumbling into a deadly situation. This one looks to aware, besides the ship heading to earth theme seems daft.
