Classic Laurel and Hardy Page 2

Two of my favourite shorts of L&H are 'Blotto' & ' Come Clean'. Blotto is almost funny from start to finish. Come Clean whilst not a classic has some great moments.

Loved watching L&H as a kid and at 42 years young still find them just as funny and entertaining.

Favourite film of theirs would be ' Sons Of The Desert'. Never dipped in quality once. Absolute gem.

"Way out West" is one of my favourites. This Classic lighter scene says it all for me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDrYVzb5KAU :D

I <3 L&H so much. Busy Bodies (the sawmill one) is a guaranteed source of joy every time. And it does have a plot, they all do really. That's part of what makes them great.

Anyone remember the Laurel and Hardy cartoons in the 60's created by someone called Larry Harmon for Hanna and Barbera. The cartoon show used to turn up a lot on ITV in the late 60's and early 70's, shown sometimes as fillers. I recall once seeing one just before the national anthem and closedown in the 70's, it was really ace seeing cartoons shown late at night. Hanna and Barbera did a similar thing with Abbott and Costello.

Yes and they should have a cricket bat with barbed wire wrapped round it inserted in and out of their intimacies to the beat of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance on Monday morning in Stoke for sullying the greatness of Laurel and Hardy in such a fashion. What next, Camilla Parker Bowles playing Melanie C?

I have this Laurel and Hardy box set:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Laurel-Hardy-Collection-21-disc-Box/dp/B0001K2KE8/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1361280387&sr=1-2

It is 21 discs (with about 70 odd films), well worth a purchase if you can find it for a reasonable price. It covers the Hal Roach years (everything up to about 1940) which is when they were at their best.

I remember the cartoon, they made it in 1965 straight after Stan Laurel died and could no longer object to it. I really can't remember if it was any good or not.
