Football comedy?

Hey all,

Looking for the name of a TV show, possibly from the 90s about a non league or lower league team that went on to win the FA cup. It was a comedy. I can remember certain parts of it, but can't for the life of me remember the name.

I believe it was called something "Cup".

Hope someone here remembers the name, would love to watch it again.

Thanks.

What was the one where Ricky Tomlinson was the manager?

I loved the sponsor's name on their shirts:-

Wirral Rubbish

Mike Bassett, seen the film but never seen the sitcom.

Eleven Men Against Eleven was in the same vein and rather superior.

This has somehow passed me by. I shall rectify this.

There was The Cup not that long ago: https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/the_cup/

Unless it was Jossie's Giants

Dan

I thought the Mike Bassett film was brilliant. Actually, that skinny Scouse actor who played the England fan giving Mike Bassett tactical advice, in the scene where the team were getting on the coach, lives by me. He's been in loads of films, including Hannibal Rising and Batman Begins.

Not comedies but comedy dramas were "Playing for Real" about Subbuteo and "Playing the field" about a womens team.
