They investigated that on the TV program Mythbusters and could not get Teslas design to vibrate fast enough, but when they used a modern linear motor trunsducer, they did manage to get a steel bar resonating violently, but when they tried it on a whole real bridge they just got a non-dangerous but noticeable tremble.
Too far is the answer. It will eat us up and spit us out on a big heap of uselessness. When the robots start making making the robots then we are buggered. All this technology for what? I ask, not us, but the small band of rich bastards who can't stop wanting more. Much of it is pointless, makes us fat and incredibly lazy and keeps us addicted to their ridiculous gadgets and gizmos.

Just because they make it doesn't mean we have to buy it. Of course you could also say if they didn't make it we wouldn't know we wanted it.
