I'm not a closet Gyles fan because I'm not ashamed. And I love Dear Ladies.

Dear Ladies as in H&B ?

Indeed.

I absolutely can't stand Gyles Brandreth. If he was on every episode I would avoid the series completely. I do like it when Paul Merton calls him out for stealing other people's jokes, though.

Well, I like Gyles Brandreth and I like Paul Merton, but who is best?

There's only one way to find out...............?

Hmm

Can't see it working on TV myself.

Even when characters like Kenneth Williams did it it just didn't really work.

Don't see the point TBH.

This has been tried before on a number of occasions and I seem to remember bombed everytime.
I don't think it will have legs. Errr

Caught the last 20 minutes

Quite enjoyable!

Better than I expected

I thought it was very funny. I wish they'd bring back Call My Bluff too. I love that style of cosy, simple, old fashioned quiz show. It's all very British. :)

Isn't Would I Lie To You basically a more expanded version of Call My Bluff?

I thought it was brilliant. I nearly choked when Sue Perkins said 'bell-end'!

Ha, I suppose it is in a way!

Gyles Brandreth should be on every show

Absolute lunatic

And very very funny

I agree with you Lofty. A true English eccentric.

I thought it was very enjoyable. Hopefully the rest of the series will be too.

After years of trying to work out who Paul Merton reminds me of when he does his little mimes and mock surprised looks I've finally got it! Cary Grant. That's been bugging me for so long.

Stephen Fry seems to take the game very seriously (what was that moustache about?), and Russell Tovey pulled some very funny faces when he was listening to other people!

Ha, I did notice Tovey doing a rather odd 'seven year old boy concentrating' face while he listened to Fry.
Really enjoyed it today though. Clary and Fry are excellent.

Until I watched this yesterday I never realised they were allowed to make notes!

Stephen Fry seemed to be practically reading his bits off his notepad, surely this isn't in the spirit of the game?

Didn't notice any of that! Are you sure?
