I love Spaced but it's a bit of an marmite show.

Also at the time it was cutting edge which doesn't help.

Still looks and feels way ahead of most British shows to me.

Never really got why some consider it marmite; it's just very warm, fast, and silly, with great characters.

I mean the cultural references were so now they were next.

Stylistically it's still so modern it's almost avant garde.

Seen and loved Brass Eye. Got Peep Show on my to watch list. Saw the first ep of Spaced and I'm still not into it - should I give it more time?

You could - but I suspect if you didn't like the first episode, you won't be magically won around by the rest.

Don't listen to Alfred BTW. Coupling is great.

Agreed, Coupling is brilliant. At least up to the last series, which wasn't very good at all, unfortunately.

Yes, Series 4 certainly suffered. There's still some wonderful stuff in it, but it's just not quite the same.
