Didn't realise the deadline was at 9.00am on Wednesday so I had an 'Italian Job' style drive through the streets to get to DHL before it closed. (except I was in a Peugot)

Well I got mine sent off on Monday. Got stuck in, then had to do a 7 hour night shift at work, then cracked back on with it at 5am! didn't even read it through properly and now I dread reading it again as if I find a mistake I might just cry. I'm also watching a few episodes that the BBC recommended, and realising I may have written 32 pages and held back on flashbacks, but in reality, I've probably got about 20 minutes or less. Pah. .
One day I'm going to get organised enough to put things in the diary. I really thought 21st was friday... Oh well, it's done, spellchecked, formatted and probably far too long.

The 'number of pages' rule is really strange. They're looking for 30 minute sitcoms, but it's in black and white in the T&Cs that you "must" submit a script which is "approx. 30 pages in length". We all know 30 pages doesn't necessarily equal 30 minutes, and if we need confirmation of that there isn't one example script on their resources page which runs anywhere near 30 pages. Still, if that's what they want, that's what they'll get (or... um... got) - safer to send in a script which sticks to the rules...
DO you think it's allowed to put the screenplays up on the net, like onto my Circalit account? I'm new to this whole online stuff.

Never get bogged down by page counts in competitions. Fact is, if it's still interesting on page 30, they will keep reading to the end. 99% of script aren't.

It's your script. You can do what you like with it.
The only time the Beeb probably wouldn't allow it would be if your script had reached development stage.
You're right. I've posted it up as my first project.
Has anyone had an acknowledgement of receipt for Laugh track from BBC Writersroom? I took my entry in to Broadcasting House, but haven't had any confirmation from them..
Got one this morning by email.
I've got an email too.
I got this morning's email too, addressed to Dear Writers. Bulk email sent to all entrants, so check your junk/spam folder as it might have fallen into it.
+++EDIT+++
Addendum: The email mentioned they'd opened and logged all entries. So if you didn't get the email, it's best to contact them just in case it's still sitting on that reception desk.
Oh hell. Better part of £6 recorded guaranteed next day delivery down the pan by the look of it.
In fairness, they massively f**ked-up the confirmation process for last year's Laughing Stock, if you wanted to read that thread.

Ah the ol' sending two separate email thing that gave false hope. That was fun constantly checking my emails. Don't know why they couldn't have emailed straight rejections and 'next stage' emails.
Waited ages for the acknowledgment previously.
