Alex, I really liked that, good original idea nicking the Crown Jools without 'em noticing they'd gone, and the thought of them turning up on EBay ... hilarious! Bloody good effort (I want to know what happens next!)

Ta matey.
I tell you what happens next, it gets canned as not good enough
Hello Mike and sorry for lack of respect!
I've read it now cos I've got some time. A lot of it did make me laugh - it was very funny. However to go back to my earlier point there was some unnecessary repetition - and also some fairly irrelevant o the plot bits. I can't pinpoint exactly at the moment - but there was enough good material for a really good sketch.
Thanks for reading it David, no worries! (I was naturally planning my revenge but you've well and truly thwarted that!!!). As I said elsewhere here I do tend to overwrite and I really must get some control over that. I've been looking at well-known series scripts and they clearly go bang bang bang with very short speeches (mostly) whereas mine easily develop into waffle waffle waffle. So ... I'm going to try and write something funny with max 3 or 4 word lines per character and see what happens! Thanks again mate.
That's OK Mike. It's just my opinion and who am I. Just another unpublished wannabe. (I do hate trendy jargon)
I thought it was well written - although a wee bit too long in places - with quite a few laughs. But, as previous posters have said, maybe the subject is a little past its sell-by date. Steve Bell's "Apes of Wrath" book was published in 2004, and is very similar in style. You can take that as encouragement, though - it'd be nice to be as successful as he is!
I was about to suggest trying to come up with something more original next time. There again, don't the establishment like the tried and tested? Who knows?
That said, I wonder how "Dubbya's Mockery" would do in the American market. I have a mate (or should that be "buddy"?) who would absolutely lap this up. I'd like to email it to him if that's OK. (He's not very well at the mo' and it would give him a laugh.) I could just give him a link to this thread but I'm not sure he's "into" British comedy and maybe he wouldn't look at it.
Were the winning entries ever published?
(PS: It looks like the sly old bugger just got another "bump".)
