Know what you mean re the harvesting - it looked to me like they were burrowing a bloody screwdriver into the spine. My younger son had leukaemia when he was 4 and I nearly passed out the first time I watched them taking marrow for testing (mind you I hadn't slept the night before because he was so ill). However I had to get used to it as it was due to be repeated many times. The actual transplanting back in, is more like just giving a blood transfusion.

Yeah, watching the harvesting is well grim- one of those things that the brain just can't quite believe is happening and so thinks that being unconscious is probably the most sensible option!
