Radio comedy request

Hi - just joined today.

I've just been going memory lane with the radio comedy shows I used to listen to in the 70s and 80s such as 'The Grumbleweeds' and 'Radio Active' and I have a question.

My memory isn't so good as it was, but I seem to remember there was one radio show around this time which had a sketch about a chap called Roy and the other character would regularly say 'ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Royyyyyy' in a high voice.

Trouble is I simply can't remember what the show was - was it a sketch from The Grumbleweeds or was it another show?

Any help more than welcome!

Many thanks

No chance you're thinking of Take It From Here / The Glums and cries of "Oh, Ron!"?

I wonder what other catchphrases you have got wrong.

"Don't worry he's the Parsley moaner."

"You stupid boil!"

"This carrot is no more..."

Aaron - No that's not the one I'm thinking of.

Tim - well, it was a long time ago :)

Nothing to do with Roy Hudd was it?

June Whitfield used to play Norma in The News Headlines, updating her catchphrase as "Oh, John!". It would make sense for her to say "Oh Roy!" before that as her TIFH character Eth (to eventually get the surname) Glum. There was no Roy in the Grumbleweeds.
