News Radio

Here's a little known over here American sitcom from the nineties, 'News Radio'. Went for five seasons, I think. I'm into it's second season and it's a really fun watch. The main guy is Dave Foley, from 'Kids in The Hall', but the stand out is Phil Hartman's character; he's probably best known over here for being Troy McClure in 'The Simpsons'.

It's well worth a look; give it a few episodes to get into it.

Watched the first few episodes, I'm really enjoying it so far. The AV Club recommended it very highly.

That and the fact he was brutally murdered by his wife.

Yes, after the fourth series of this; they came back for one more after that, and the opening episode deals with the 'death' of his character.

He really is great in it, a first rate sitcom creation. Apparently he was supposed to voice Zapp Brannigan in Futurama; which seems obvious when you hear the voice they went with.

*reads the Phil Hartman Wiki entry*
Bloody hell.
Turns out Andy Dick's a mental, not surprising.

Wow. Can't imagine how they get any laughs out of that.

Haven't seen it, but I understand at one point the actors cry for real.

Arg. :(
