Got this email yesterday afternoon from organiser Chris Jones:
STOP PRESS - THERE WILL BE NO COMEDY FESTIVAL IN MARCH 2012
Following the resounding success of this years Festival, which left all of us here at TeamLSF slightly overwhelmed, one thing became glaringly obvious - that we really do have our work cut out for us to top the 2011 festival.
To that end we have elected to make some structural changes which will enable us to focus all our combined efforts on delivering the best possible festival in 2012. We will reveal more details in due course but for now the first change we'd like to announce is the integration of next years Comedy Writers' Festival into the LSF program in October 2012. To be clear, there will be NO Comedy Festival in March 2012.
We are committed to producing the next major evolution in the London Screenwriters' Festival in 2012 and what we have up our sleeves is going to take ALL of our energy!
All delegates who have already purchased tickets for the Comedy Writers' Festival will be offered a full refund or the opportunity to offset the money paid towards their ticket to LSF2012 (at the early bird discounted cost of £240.00). We will be contacting you all individually to discuss which option you would prefer.
Everyone here at Team LSF would like to thank you for joining us on this extraordinary journey. In two short years, The London Screenwriters' Festival has officially become the biggest screenwriting event in the world! 2011 will be a hard act to follow but, rest assured, you will not be disappointed! Plans are afoot...
It's a shame as I was looking forward to it and really can't afford the £250+ it'll cost to go to the full-on Screenwriters' Festival instead. I liked the whole comedy vibe last time and can only think it'll be diluted by being a screenwriter's one instead.
