The Chuckle Brother Animation (VIDEO)

Hey funnies,

Here I am again, desperately peddling my work, eager to get some feedback / slither of self assurance .

My latest work is called The Chuckle Brother and it follows the like of Paul Chuckle after loosing his beloved brother.

It would be great to know what you all think!

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

(please watch it in 720p as it took over 250 hours and it kills me to think people are watching it in 360p)

Pffft, "250 hours", I've sunk more than that into Skyrim already!

But enough of the yanking, let's get to the yanking off. This was really good, like a super slick Monkey Dust sketch. Handsome, nuanced and funny... but that's enough about me etc etc

It's incredibly well put together, it looks fantastic. You are a talented animator, I really liked all of the little visual touches, the atmospheric setting, it also had it's own sense of style so massive congratualations.

As to the concept, it's nice and hits to the heart of the problem faced by every "doubleact" which is what happens if one of them leaves/dies. Your execution is very good, there are a couple of good laughs in there too, nice black comedy and I really like the simplicity of the title.

Plot wise I probably would have put the "ending" to the "beginning" to establish the piece quicker and get across a sense of shock, but then I guess it comes down to "where do you end it from there" - the answer is of course loads of places, but you'd need more time.

You got a lot across in unders 2 minutes and if you invested another 250 hours into another 2 minutes, I'd watch! Well done.

Thank you!.

I'm not actually an animator, this was my first shot at it. I have ADD so always have to be working on something and the animation was great surpresent for my ADD.

The plan was to continue it for another 2/3 minutes but we got to that last scene and figured we would bring it to a natural end there.

The proper ending was actually was going to end with Paul about to hang himself but just before he did he gets a message from the 'other side' from Barry saying 'to you' this was going to happen in a clever way by being either spelt out in some broken glass or a record skipping on the words 'to you'. Paul would then slightly smile and it would end... leaving it open for the viewer to wonder if he went though with the suicide or not.

We figured we would gage the success of the first part before continuing on to part 2. If we get 100k hits on it then we will kiss goodbye to our lives again and go on to do part 2.

Anyway thanks again for your interest and feedback.

Stef.

Beautiful animation
The hours that you have taken have paid off.
I know that it's probably not going to suit your artistic leanings animation wise as far as creating a finished piece but you should check out Muvizu from Muvizu.com if you want to create animation in hours rather than months. You may find it a helpful tool for planning out your future projects at least

Cheers

Time well spent.

Love it. Very impressive for your first animation
