I'll consider watching again if either David Tennant or Russell T. Davis gets hit by a large vehicle.

Laughing out loud

(Preferably the latter, IMO.)

I think Tennant is amazing. The first Doctor who is both likeable and can actually act.

Likeable: read 'bonkable'.

At least it's back at all! And who knows if that would have happened without RTD.

Wow. Yeah. Never know, we might have had something actually FRESH and ORIGINAL! :O

(Tennant does do a bit too much facial spazziness...)

Such eloquence... Laughing out loud

What, like Gavin and Stacey? I'd rather have Dr Who, thanks.

P.S. Ah yes I misspelled likeable, I meant lickable. ;)
I didn't actually fancy Tennant at first! And I still thought he was the best Who evah.

I'd do him.
Again & again.

What - time and time again?

I wouldn`t mind a bit of a go with his tardis.

Poor bastard. LOL

I thnk Catherine Tate as a comedienne is vastly overrated. Like many of the acts now, it relies heavily on repetition. The only show which I think managed to do that was the fast show, and that was because they varied the situations. There was some though to Swiss Tony or the Suit You guys.

As an actress, she's better. but like many pf the people now, it's mostly hype and 20% talent. I'm kind of reluctant to judge something I haven't seen, though her Xmas exit was 'I could never live like you", which seems a little bit of a contradiction to then go off with the Doctor. But there you are, it's fiction. it's not really all that.

I agree with the comment about Russell Davies. he has got WAY to big for his boots. Good writer, but prone to elements of sentimentality which in reality should have been cut. Also Dr Who is becoming more and more a sci-fi soap, whcih doesn't fit it. What really irks me though is this gay thing he has. He does have an enormaous chip on his shoulder about emphasising his sexual orientation, and while there is nothing wrong in being gay, every interview I see he makes reference either directly to it or indirectly through mentioning boyfriends. It's not needed, really.

Not to mention Torchwood was like a gigantic showcase of how sexually open-minded everyone can be...

Also the Race thing. He criticised the ITV show Primeval because therewere no blacks and seems to go out of his way to overdo the black characters now.

I must say though that Feema (or whatever her name is))is very beautiful!

Oh crikey... somebody stop him! :)

He could always regenerate!

I really don't think he's 'overdone' the black characters.
Unless you expected Martha's family to be white?
:)

It's just like he's making a point though - and his complaint about Primeval. Just because it was almost as good!

*Puts his spod hat on*

As far as a new assistant can go, where else could they turn. They could have had somebody completely new again but then you'd have to go through the whole introduction thing again with "Oh it travels in time" and "It's bigger on the inside!". This would wear very thin doing it three times in four series.

It's brave as well, casting somebody over forty as his sidekick takes it away from that 'I'm so in love with the Doctor' thing.

Martha's not gone completely though, she's confirmed for three episodes of Torchwood and a possible return to Doctor Who towards the end of season 4. They have made sure she can come back easily, it;s not like she's in another dimension or something.

*Takes off spod hat, places it next to replica sonic screwdriver'.

Why didn't they just recast Freema?

Why didn't they just recast Freema?

Ain't got a clue. It wasn't as if she was firmly entrenched in the story though, her family did bugger all until the last episode.
