What's the most useful thing you learnt at school

I think the most useful thing I learned at school was how to cook in Home Ec. I'm no <insert name of celebrity chef> but I can roast a chicken, boil an egg etc.

What about everyone else? Has Anyone ever used Pythagorus theorum?

How to bend not break the rules

That school is there to make you ready for use by others.

I learnt how to sew which has come in handy a lot.

How to break an unbendable ruler.

I know you spent your time wisely.

What else did you keep in your baggy trousers?

Two foreign languages; History of Art.

When to shut up.

How to watch boys playing rugby in little shorts through the window, while hiding behind my hair.

We never really seemed to cook much in HE. It was all bloody theory. Useless. And mind numbingly boring.
I remember making stuffed peppers. And maybe some soup once.

At our school, they actually taught the boys how to cook.

It was such a big thing back then, they put it in on the local TV, Granada.

F**k all of any real use

Skool woz shit :(

French and Maths taught me how to be logical, which drives Mr. Keewik mad at times - he thinks I'm a nitpicking swine.

I would sack all home economics teachers. They're a total waste of space and also bad-tempered, thick bitches. I say this based not only on my experience, but that of my sons. A waste of the education budget. Even thinking of them makes steam come out of my ears!

My HE teacher was TERRIFYING. She was tiny and white haired and just pure evil. But as soon as we got to year 11 she was nice as anything to us, and we realised it had all been an act to keep the younger kids in line.
It totally worked.
