School themed gags for Peterborough FM show

As my post on the 'Jokes needed for community radio show' hasn't yielded a response I thought I'd start a new topic.

Basically I have a weekly community radio show, The Pleasuredome Pick'n'Mix, on http://peterborough.fm and it is my aim to do one themed show a month. What I'd like to include is comedy material from the good people at BCG to give them a chance at being broadcast.

The next themed show will be between 8:00pm and 9:00pm on Thursday the 24th November and I'm after material based on the subject of...

SCHOOL / EDUCATION

In a change from last month I'm now looking only for emailed gags and one-liners (no recordings) and plan to keep to the format employed in the last themed show. On that occasion the subject was 'Time'.

The deadline for submissions is by the end of Friday 18th November and ALL should be sent to pleasuredome-pfm@hotmail.co.uk. I'm afraid I can't offer payment but it is at least a chance to have your material read out on air - you will of course be name checked in the show itself. Please tell me if you want to be credited with your actual or forum name.

I want to give everyone a chance so my aim is to include one joke per BCGer. I can't promise to include everyone every time but I shall do my best. I took a couple of liberties with the material in the last show with a few minor rewrites but I'd rather get agreement between me and the writer. For that reason I need to leave a week before transmission to get it all sorted out.

If you have any questions then just ask away...

Thanks mate, got one in last time and shall certainly try again.

How is the show going, J-man? You getting good feedback from your audience?

Cheers. :)

The show is going well thanks. I had an email from the station controller after last week's show saying he could tell I was growing in confidence and liked that I had invited in a guest in for this week. It's someone from a charity called Young Epilepsy, a fundraising group that I'm helping to set up.

I could be in the paper this week because I've tried to get some promotion for the charity, the interview and the radio station. It's all go...

I don't know about listening figures but I do know that family and friends plus a few others are continuing to listen in and contact the show while I broadcast. At the end of the day it's all good fun and I feel my life has regained some direction.

That's good to hear. It has sounded like you need some good times at last. Not a bad end to the year ay. Who knows where this could take you? Watch out Alan Partridge. :D

Thanks for all the submissions - I will be going through it all this weekend so I will be in touch.

This is the final call for contributions for next week's shoe. If you want to have your gags read out on air next Thursday then send me your school / education themed material to pleasuredome-pfm@hotmail.co.uk

Please remember to tune in to my radio show tomorrow via www.peterborough.fm just after 8.30 for the next BCG joke feast.

In your penultimate post, I think you put your foot in it... ;)

Cracking show again, Ghosts by Japan, haven't heard that for years! and loving the joke section of course ;) ;)

Another excellent show!

My contributions were the NUT allergy and grammar school jokes.

Thanks for the comments - I'll try and get the BCG bit on Soundcloud tomorrow. For now here's the full show podcast - fast forward to 41:14 to hear.

Loved it, cheers.

Thanks people - mind you, I'm pretty sure people are laughing for all the wrong reasons. My mate Rob in the studio was wetting himself before I'd got anywhere near a punchline. :)
