I thought you meant so they'd catch fire...
The Olympic Torch Page 2
"It was a bona fide case of spontaneous human combustion, honest Guv. Nuffing to do wiv the flaming torch they dropped down 'emselves when they was tripped."
You people are scary. Is that what happens to moderators? They deal with so much spam that they turn murderous?
Oh you have NO idea what I have had to deal with in the past week to keep this site running. But no, this is just rightful contempt for the Olympics!
Words absolutely effin' fail me, they really do.
Look at the IOC in any depth and that won't come as any surprise, OR. They make communist dictatorships look honest.
29 billion pounds.
29 billion pounds.
The land's sold off to the Arabs already, the techno park that could have made money is vetoed, new legislation brought in, thousands of security enforcers to ensure no one advertises the wrong thing. Even the corporate sponsors have barely raised 10% of the cost. And the cost isn't including transport links etc fast tracked for the games. And £20,000 tourist tickets can use the roads rate payers can't.
If this whole debacle doesn't say something profoundly depressing about Britain over the last decade. Then I don't know what does.
Yes and they have to cut unemployment benefits?... fooking evil.
Not much love for The Torch in this thread.
However, I'm just off to see it pass by the end of my street. Hope I don't sneeze.
I'll probably be raising an unimpressed eyebrow a little later this morning. I'm far more interested in the Coke bus thing that's supposedly following it, to be honest.
Even more underwhelming than I'd imagined. Nevertheless, glad I went as they were handing out free Coke. That makes today a success. \o/
I watched a bit when my friend's sister was the torch bearer and I tried to watch it last night just to see if I could spot my son on the telly as it passed the end of his road so he decided to have a look. As it was delayed I watched it for nearly an hour, waiting, waiting.... finally it got to the stage that included his road and up on the screen pops 'sorry, we are unable to bring you any footage at the the moment.' >_<

Bloody druggies.
I will be catching this on Birdcage Walk, just down the road from Buck House as it passes through Westminster on 26th July. There's a party in Hyde Park afterwards, but if it's rubbish, me and the crew (well, my two friends) will hit the pub.
Atmosphere should be excellent.
