The New Adventures of Old Christine

It's been mentioned a few times elsewhere, but The New Adventures of Old Christine, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine in Seinfeld), starts on UKTV Gold (?!!) on Monday 8th July at 9:00pm with a double bill of the first two episodes.

I was recommended the show about a year ago and 'acquired' the first episode, so finally getting around to watching it now. Actually looks pretty good so far, and I think the other comments about it have been pretty positive too.

Just a heads up. :)

Seen a couple of episodes of this and yeah it's pretty good, will be watching this when it starts.

I think Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a fantastic comedy actress. Seen the adverts for this and thought it looked a little cheesy, but I'm still going to give it a try.

I haven't seen an episode of it yet but i want to.

Just a reminder that this starts on UK Gold at 9pm tonight.

Thought this was alright although a little bit predictable in places but plenty of laughs. Definitely going to stick with it.

Only saw the second episode of last nights double bill, but found it pretty funny, certainly worth seeing how it develops. Shes a really good performer.

I couldn't watch it, I was hoping they would of repeated it in the early hours, but they didn't, the bastards!

They may be contracted to only show it at certain times.

It's on again between 8 and 9pm tomorrow, fret not!

I quickly got bored of this and turned it off after 10minutes, I'll give it ago another time, maybe?

I also saw Julia Louis-Dreyfus in another comedy last night on Living, about 4 0'clock in the morning, it was called, 'Watching Ellie'. It also had Darren Boyd and Steve Carell in it.

The synopsis claimed it was in "real-time", but I couldn't see what it meant by that.

I thought it was slightly better then "Christine" but as far as I'm concerned, that's not saying much.

It's definitely worth another go, I agree I didn't think much to the pilot episode really, the second episode was better but still not a huge step up. But I saw a couple of episodes last year from late on in the season and they were really good, so its one of those that improves with every episode I reckon, rather than stays the same or gets worse.

It was losing my attention until the "Where are all the black kids line" but then soon after it lost it again.

I will give it ago, but only because it's got Julia in it, who I think is superb :D The banter between her and her son was quite entertaining, which was a nice surprise, 'cos normally I can't stand kids in comedy.

The Ex-Husband kinda reminded me or Norm, remember him?

Yeah I usually can't stand kids in comedy, didn't really like the kid in this either. Best kids ever in a comedy and I know I always go on about the show, but Arrested Development, Maebe and George Michael are great.

Lol, I 100% agree, but surely their about 20?
