Don't know if anyone is interested, but the Edinburgh Book Festival is on between 11th and 27th Aug.
Looking through the programme of events, there are a number of lectures/discussions on writing including:-
-Writing and Contracts £10
-Writing and Inspiration £10
-How to Write Short Stories £10
-Marketing yourself as a writer £10
plus countless others.
As well as this, there are lots of author's visiting to give talks. They include Julian Clary!!!!, Ian Rankin (Not far for him to travel), Clive James, Alan Bennett, Edward De Bono (Wow!!!), and Adam Hart Davis
