British Comedy Guide

Phil Cool - A comedy legend

Thursday 3rd of November Phil Cool will be performing at South Hill Park arts centre in Bracknell. Tickets go for £15, shows starts at 7.30pm.

The man with the rubber face is back on tour.

Yet again Phil Cool is on tour and with sell out houses wherever he goes it is clear that he at least is recession proof. His 1980s television shows have now obtained cult status, proof that his comedy is as contemporary, valid and hilarious today as it has ever been. A stand-up chameleon, one minute he's George W Bush, the next Paul McCartney, then Bill Clinton and later Bugs Bunny!

With 5 top selling videos, 4 TV specials, 3 hit series for BBC 2, acclaimed series for Independent TV he has become a British legend and treasure.

Don't worry, Phil, us 30+ folks still remember you. Your JR Ewing impression was a particular favourite of mine. Have a good show!

Used to watch him on TV when I was a kid

Very funny chap

Used to tour a lot with Jasper Carrot I recall

Aw, he was always on telly when I was growing up.
I do associate him with Jasper Carrot so I suppose that must be why.

Good Wallace impression.

Shot a press ad with him back in the 80's.
Top geezer.
Seem to remember that, live, he was one of the few people who could out-sweat Lee Evans.

Good shout for the JR impression.. and his human/lizard transformation from "V" was good too.. if anyone remembers that?

Good Wallace impression.

Who is Wallace? The Scottish rebel - William?

Good to knnow he's still going,I used to enjoy his shows. IIRC didn't he emerge from the folk club scene much like Billy Connelly,Mike Harding,Richard Digence, and the aforementioned Jasper Carrot?

Used to do a funny Roy Hattersley as well, which dates him somewhat but love to see how he's doing.

I've got fond memories of my dad, my sister and myself all crying with laughter, watching him do his J.R. impression, back in the late '80s. It was rare for my family to all agree on what to watch, let alone cry with laughter all at once. My mum was probably in the kitchen at the time.
