Pissed off

Does anybody else get as pissed off with themselves as I do. Is it my effing age or the cider I have just imbibed? Who cares. Please leave a note for the milkman on the front porch before you put out th cat. I'm buggered.

I'm sensing tension that only a long drinking session can solve.

Oh dear WJFK... not sounding happy at all!! Why are you pissed off with yourself!? Is that cause there's no one else around to take the wrap!

I prescribe a drink, drugs and sex heaven.

WJFK it may be your lucky day. If you take Ed's advice I have beers, wacko backo or whatever it is called floating about here somewhere. Its about 5 years old and it is quite possibly in the male cats tum, but for you I will retrieve it. I can also do the sex heaven.:)

WJFK, yep, I do.

Got to admit that I struggle each day with my writing, swinging from optimism to pessimism several times, sometimes within seconds. My innards feel like that horrid lurching feeling when you're drunk or on a rollercoaster. And that's just on the writing side. Don't ask me about the rest of it. :)

So don't worry, I think most of us get it. Some more than others (me!) and some days worse than others. So it's a bad day for you, don't worry, keep on persevering.

Never ever let it stop you from writing because it keeps you in practice. As I said to a mate, if we aspire to be professionals then it really is a job, so we have to write every day, whether we feel like it or not.

Despite your intuition, good work is not dependent on how you 'feel' although we get the impression that it is because when we feel down, the writing seems to suffer too. But that's learned experience and not all learned experience is true or logical or even helpful. Good writing stands as good writing independent of the mood of the writer.

So I know the feeling, Mate, and empathise.

Ditto...sometimes I want to become a lap dancing mountain bear...that plays the mouth organ...whilst chained to a Albanian gypo...rather than writing sometimes...but in the back of my mind i know the ideas will always come back..so when the sad days happen...just F.C.U.K it for a while...cut yourself some slack and open that two litre bottle of ASBO juice...and challenge another day...you've got plenty more of them...so here's to a happy un sober evening... ps. i dont think the milkman comes on saturdays.

You all just need a nice cuddle.

Well, I'm mega-low today (after no email from Angel Fire also WJFK, so you're not alone there). Imagine Michael Stipe on a bad day with the valium. But I banged out another 1,500 words on the latest project. Not saying it's great prose but editing and rewrites will sort that. It was a case of forcing myself to sit there and tap. In the end the brain kicked in - begrudgingly.

By the way, the reference I made to stream-of-consciousness and junk wasn't a reference to your output WJFK (you know that) but a reference to a technique of breaking through a bad point.

One piece of advice I've had in the past (and also someone who is now persona non gratis mentioned, which was their best contribution here) is to write because you have to write, because you're utterly driven to it, or else your head will explode. If you feel that drive then you know that the confidence and energy will return. It's like a stone in your shoe, you can only ignore it so long before you have to return to it.

:D

That's called putting a brave 'smiley' on it. Tomorrow is another day.

Cheers for the sentiment, zooo.

i echo those sentiments. just keep writing. if you feel blocked then get a good comedy dvd, draw the curtains, put the fire on, get a duvet, a bottle of pop, bag of sweets and settle in for the night. i usually find that by watching someone else's genius it unblocks my own mind and opens up loads of different directions i can take my characters in.

Blah... I feel sick and it's making me feel pissed off. Before I sat down at the computer I was brimming with ideas, now I'm here and nothing, I've just seen a tumble weed blow across my page.

*throws up*

...blah.

Likkle Leevil been eating sammiches fwom behinda fwidge? Awwww.

But seriously. Go to bed and stick on a DVD or something!

Lol, I actually just ate a sandwich to see if it would stop the stomach ache... it didn't, but it was worth it :D ... Sick

Laughing out loud

On your own head (or chest...floor...toilet bowl) be it!
