The Thread that's Doomed to Succeed

To make a thread really work it needs to be a democratic process.

What are your rules for a perfect thread?

What should it include?
What should it avoid?

What should it avoid?

Having Steve Sunshine make it.

I was going to say that it needs Nil to make the first post.
I think this ones going to be a winner

It needs to either have a very good point to make, or to be totally pointless. nothing in-between will do.

Some of the longest-running threads involve the passions; sex (Who do you fancy?) and anger (things that piss you off)are both huge. Also, Status report, simply because a lot of people are interested in talking about themselves.

Include = Scandal.
Avoid = religion and Politics.

So it looks like wer'e phooked.

Thread longevity:

James Cotter sketch.
David Bussell misunderstanding.
Mention of troll/clique.
