Changing formats

I have a script I want to change the set-up of, it's been written as a film script with script smart gold 2 is there any way I can change it over to a sit com or drama script at the flick of a key rather than to re-rite it completly.
Any help would be great not to technical though.

Billwill is the main man with regards to Script formatting around here. Not sue if he lurks over this side of the forum. Either PM him or re-post this in Status Report .

Do you have Sciptsmart?
Because my understanding is that it has those different templates.
Should be pretty easy to change format within the software.
In my software you just import the original into a new file with the desired format.
Having said that, if was written with the intention of being a film it'll need more than a format change...

It's VERY difficult to automate a change from Film Format to Sitcom Format by any kind of change of Word's paragraph styling because Film format has the character name as a separate paragraph and in Sitcom format it is simply the first word(s) of the paragraph. MS Word does not have a reliable paragraph type that does not cause a new line after it.

So I don't know of any flick-a-switch method; here's how you do it by cut&paste with my Scriptwriters Toolkit.

and the toolkit itself. http://www.datahighways.net/dhl/toolkit.htm

And the complimentary BCG copy. https://www.comedy.co.uk/forums/thread/14314/

PS you will need to spell correctly before submitting any scripts

Thanks very much Billwill I'll see what I can do but from what you say I might well have to start afresh cheers anyway.
