I think Katy Wix is great asset to the line up. I think this week's 'Camping' episode is probably the best half hour sitcom since the IT Crowd ep when they went to the theatre.
Does anyone else watch NGO and think that this is what a Morecombe & Wise sitcom could have been like?
I still think Daisy is a pretty good character, it's a well established joke that she's dumb but the material she comes out with is nearly always very funny.
And there is something I find very attractive about Katy Wix.

I watched last weeks twice. My missus fell asleep during the credits on Friday so I watched it and then watched it again on Saturday.
I thought it was really good. As has been said, it was genuinely scary, it was funny and it was a really different plot. One of the reasons I think the first series is the best is that the tension between Lee and Tim over Kate generates really funny lines. This episode had some equally great stuff as Tim's protection of Lucy came to the fore.
Are Lee and Lucy ever going to get together?
Only criticism is the character of Daisy. She's so unrealistically stupid that it's not funny. Like Trigger in the most recent OFAH trilogy. It's OTT which is why she only works in small doses. That said, when she finally snapped at Tim this week, it was brilliant.

Lee hinted on The One Show recently that he was considering it. I don't remember exactly what was said, but the implication was he didn't think the will-they-won't-they could go on like this forever, but that the characters needed some unfulfilled aim to strive for, some kind of goal, and he wasn't yet certain what could take on that role for Lee if he and Lucy did become a couple.
I'm such a sheep, I have only just got into this and have got the re-runs on record, but so far this new season is just great.

I loved the return of Tim's protective side this week too. It's a difficult one because as much as I'd love to see Lee and Lucy get together, I wonder if you take that tension away then the barrage of jokes will seem a bit too much. They hit the right balance at the moment. They never play on it overly much but just enough . Either way I have confidence it would work but it's an interesting point. Your main character still needs something to strive for.
Maybe they could get together and keep it a secret from Tim?

That's what I thought they could do with this series when it seemed like they'd get together at the end of the last series. I think it could work.
I don't think much of the dynamic would change if they did get together, in some episodes (last year's "Fireworks" springs to mind) they do act much like they're already in a couple. The jokes about Lee wanting to sleep with her would still work to a degree, which is what a lot of the humour is based around rather than him being "in love" with her.
I think Lee Mack did make a very insightful point when he said Lee would need another goal to aim for if he and Lucy were to get together.

Yep, agreed. Look at any sitcom featuring a married couple or long term partners, from My Family to George & Mildred or Bless This House, and there's plenty of tension. There'd still be oodles for them to play with.
The goal issue is slightly different, but not insurmountable. With the addition of a proper relationship a whole realm of new possibilites open up: not just Lee trying to get a leg over, but trying to resist being controlled by Lucy and retain his sense of freedom, not being defined by their relationship, whilst still keeping in her good books - and, inevitably, it increases her influence on him to get a job. And that's not to mention adding an extra angle to the friendship with Tim!
Oodles of potential IMO. Think of the gag possibilities that'd open up!

I did not recognise the clown as Dr. Dick Stuart-Clark until I saw Geoffrey Davies name in the credits.
