Some Like It Hot

Anybody else a fan?

I love it, I used to watch it so much I could recite the whole film from beginning to end word perfect. Now that I am sadly no longer a child and don't have time to remember scripts off by heart, my ability to quite off hand is less, but my love for the film is just the same.

One of my favourite bits would have to be when Josephine and Oscard are standing waiting for the lift and they have a conversation about Oscard's many wives and his mother. Genius.

Do you have a favourite bit / favourite quote / prefer one of Wilder's other films? The Apartment is another great one of his that springs to mind.

'Well put in your reel Mr Fielding, you're barking up the wrong fish!'

Both are brilliantly written and anyone trying to write comedy would do well to read the SPs.

Couldn't agree more Lazzard. Everyone should read the SLIH script. Its over 50 years old and still fresh and very funny.

Not just the dialogue but the background action.

Like in the first few scenes when the police have infiltrated the speakeasy and the 'drunk' gets kicked out for spilling booze on the gangsters spats.
Quite a while later the police kick the doors down to raid the place and the drunk is carried back in on the tide of policemen.

It is laugh out loud funny just to read.
