Favourite Epic Movies?

You know the sort, 4 hours of mind-numbing movie madness. The type of film you start to watch when it's sunny outside and before you know it, the credits are rolling and it's pitch black out of the window.

I do enjoy me a good epic. I've had the urge to rewatch Dances With Wolves, which I have fond memories of although it has been a long while since I've seen it. I do like Kevin Costner, no matter how uncool that makes me sound.

What are your favourite epics?

I'd like to add The Shawshank Redemption to the the list.

If I see so much as a minute of Goodfellas or JFK I'm stuck there until the end.

I haven't seen JFK. I'll add that to the must-see list. John Candy is in it! F**k! :D

Citizen Kane absorbing on so many levels.

I've seen The 10 Commandments a fair few times.

And are you a better man for it?

I can't think of many that I actually like!

2001, I suppose. Great to watch at least once, anyway.

I doubt it, but I always enjoy it.

Although I'm not certain now what counts as epic.

Never seen it.

To me Epic Movies means two films and one actor.

As Putters has already said

10 Commandments

And then of course

Ben Hur

Oh, and the extended versions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

See, I was just think unusually long film. Way past the reasonable 1.30hr mark.

Ah, okay. Planet of the Apes maybe?

If that's a favourite of yours, sure.
