British Comedy Guide

Hi there

Wonder if someone can help me out with a 70s sitcom... Been annoying me for ages.
Don't know the name of it or the characters/actors.

There were two main characters, like Penelope Wilton and Robin Nedwell - he might have been a reporter on a local paper. Main thing was the set was mainly in their front room and they used deck chairs for furniture.

Not a lot to go on I know. Seem to remember seeing bits of it inbetween visits to the pub. Any sleuths know what I'm trying to find?

seriously impressed..well under 5 minutes!! thanks very much!!

Pleasure. :)

Is running on one of the nostalgia channels at the mo, watched an episode for the first time in nearly 50 years the other night, and was pretty much as remembered, middling in quality but a nicely contained and neat little three hander. Fantastically dated as well, screaming mid 70s with its decor and clothes, which is well worth viewing for alone.

Most notable was how good Lewis Collins was in a comedy role, which won't be a surprise to fans of The Professionals, being the main source of the humorous touches in the show. Quality of humour very predictable but comfortably handled. Always good to see Diane Keen as well. The title still bemuses me, don't quite see the connection, but does at least make it easy to remember among a huge nest of middling domcoms of the period.

Note - On the thread list TCW is wrongly listed as Hi there.
