Sitcoms that should have been on ITV

I was watching The Royle Family the other day which as you know was made by Granada/ITV Studios, yet shown on the BBC.

As much as I love the programme, I think it would have been better tightened up a little and shown on ITV where everything is slightly shorter due to the adverts. There were times when scenes did appear to be a bit dragged out - especially when they were showing clips from the TV programmes they were watching.

Are there any other sitcoms that you feel the same way about?

Sorry but I don't agree with your original premise.

It was the dragged out feeling around TRF that made it what it was for me. The tedium, sheer tedium of family life.

The Royle Family is crap. Jim's spotty nose knocks me sick.

Nothing wrong with the length of The Royle Family.

However I think the Big Top should've been ITV. In other words crap.
