Don't just stand there, adapt something. Anything. If you want to make a film or a TV series you can forget about pitching an original idea. You've got a better chance of getting a commission for an adaptation, even if it's of your gas bill. In fact, my last gas bill was much more dramatic than most of the things I've seen on BBC2 recently, especially the parts in red. Or just go into a kid's bedroom and find any toy, game or comic book that hasn't yet been adapted into a major Hollywood movie.
