I nearly died (or something nearly as bad) last night. I was leaning over the railings outside my house (with spikes on) to lock my bike on... and I slipped and the spike went straight into my chest and was only stopped piercing skin by my foot hitting the floor.
Was a bit of a scary moment.

I am a bit bruised...but won't be doing that again. Until I lock my bike up later.

Eeek, that's a lucky escape. On one of those medical emergency programmes recently there was a woman who fell onto a spiked fence and a spike went through her bum. 
Didn't you have a similar accident with a vacum cleaner?
