Good timing with your thread excavation there, Steve. Just got back from my first ever trip to Wales.
Went to Festival Number 6 in Portmeirion.
Stayed in Criccieth which was breathtakingly pretty, and had a rather nice ice-cream parlour.
The BCG is in need of a Switzerland-Thread.

Welcome back George K. That festival looks very good. I hadn't heard about it before.
Who has the strongest stereotypical Welsh accent? I remember Terry Griffiths the snooker player had a very strong accent. When I attempted to do a Welsh accent I'd just say 'Terry Griffiths' in a Welsh accent.
The strongest Scottish accent I can think of would probably be Alex Ferguson or Kenny Dalglish.
Englishwise I think Boris Johnson would be quite stereotypical of what you would think of when thinking of an English accent.
I'm not sure whats perceived as a typical Irish accent. Is it Dublin, Northern Ireland or somewhere else?
This is a clip from a live show where Jon Kenny (cinema owner and muffled talker in Fr. Ted) and Pat Shortt (I shot JR tshirt in Fr. Ted) put on slightly stronger Irish accents to reflect rural Ireland fairly close to where I live:

I find Welsh is one of the most difficult accents to do. It always ends up somewhere in the Punjab. It is a lilt, isn't it, and quite subtle. When I'm thinking of anyone from Dylan Thomas to Max Boyce, people who are very full-on Welsh, I'd expect that the accent would be on, well, the accent. But generally it isn't. It's on the attitude and, in the case of the first, pitch too. But maybe there are better examples than those ones.

Festival No 6 is only in its third year. Certainly had a nice, friendly vibe, and not too overcrowded (8,000 capacity). Good variety of stuff on offer. Not the easiest place to get to though from Down South if you're not camping on site.
