I enjoy watching (TV show) but wouldn't admit it Page 3

All those cops-with-camera shows are quite addictive. And I like a spot of Jeremy Kyle once in blue moon.

I used to watch The OC. I can't stand those others though.

I've grown to hate One Tree Hill but Gossip Girl is still pretty good, especially Chuck Bass.

I love, My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. I hesitate to admit it, because I am always going on about the terrible, mind numbing, bloody awful reality TV shows, and there really are too many (on our TV channels).

It's more of a documentary. Reality Show implies some loose scripting and artificialnessness.

You don't think it was a completely open fly on the wall naturalistic program?

Because if you do I've got a bridge you may want to buy.

There's more and more of these pseudo reality show/ documentary crossovers around all the time.

Bit of scripting, some scenes rerecorded etc etc

not to mention gool old

"do something interesting or you're off the show"

Hmm I loved that show, but they really did cherry pick the juiciest stories.

And saying people enjoy their lives when they've been indoctrinated and denied a full education isn't really a choice.

Especially as the poor girls have to save up for the marriage themselves!

All that stuff about grabbing was really disturbing.

Yes, the grabbing was disturbing. An unusual courtship ritual. Also, no expense spared when it comes to the big day. They must get some financial assistance from family. I don't know how a young woman, or anyone for that matter, could manage to save so much money.

I'm not daft. But surely you can see the difference between something like Big Brother, where people are placed into an artificial environment and prodded by several large sticks. As apposed to being followed around by a camera and poked with one small stick?

Seeing as bigfella featured in one of these documentaries, I'd like to hear from him how fairly he was treated in regards to editing and if he was given any direction outside of talking head shots.

I've recently become hooked on Pointless.

I'm so easily manipilated. What a pleb.

I like the banter between Armstrong and the man with the answers. It reminds me of the cheeky camradarie we used to have here before you buggered off to have a life.

I never heard any suggestion that the girls paid for any of their wedding for themselves??

Maybe I missed that bit. But where would they get the money from? They're either straight out of school, or left school at 14 and have been cleaning their mum's caravan for 2 years.

Not paying tax on anything and tinkering about. :)

there is a permanent 'camp' near me

recently police found about 4 tons of stolen copper wire hidden there

go figure!

Well I meant the teenage girls. I always imagine the blokes go out copper gathering. Allegedly.

selling pegs?

Some pikeys (not saying is the same as travellers) broke into my Dad's basement and nicked all the copper pipes. Really dangerous since it was the gas pipes (that they didn't bother to turn off supply for as who cares if people die if you make a few quid). They realised just in time, but could've been horrendous. And they had no heat nearly all winter.

They get married 16-18 but had saturday jobs etc.

I think they pay for the dresses and cake, which are the main expense.

There was something abit sad about having a 10 grand wedding at a wedding in a community centre where everyone was having fish and chips washed down with Fosters.

nb The Sun ran a load of articles about how the show didn't cover stuff.
Like the reason so few hotels etc would host traveller weddings was so many stiffed the caterers on payment and wrecked the place anyway.

I think we need rein this one in a bit now chaps, that's how intolerance starts.
