School: Your Day or Now?

Are you glad you went to school when you did, or would you have preferred to be of been a pupil in 2011?

I don't mean age-wise- we all wish we were younger. I just mean which era would you have preferred to be a school pupil in- then or now?

I'm happy I went in the 1990s. We had computers and all the other 'modern' stuff, like Playstations and gubbins like that. If I was 14 now I know for a fact I'd be bullied because there is no way my parents would be paying for me to have a mobile. Most kids now have got mega cool smartphones...I'd have had some kind of shite breezeblock.

And, I'd never have been allowed on the internet or Facebook. I'd have been the weird loner at school.

I was at school in the '80s and '90s and am definitely glad I was there then. (But then I imagine most people will say that.)
Mobiles literally came along the year after I left school. When I was at school not one person had a mobile phone, and then a year later when I was at college, everyone I knew did.

That's an eldery bread bin. :D

And a big one!

Don't get me started on this, crusty old bitch that I am. I went to school in the days when you were taught basic 3Rs plus history, geography etc and none of this project nonsense. The days when, if you looked sideways at your neighbour, the teacher gave you your head in your hands to play with. I.E. the days when school educated you. I loved it. Hated the boring school holidays. (shakes zimmer and adjusts hearing aid)

Kids are horrible violent amoral things now so I'm glad I'm not currently at school.

You judgemental fiend!

You bastards that breadbin was mother and father to me.

I think your the basterd here Sootyj

You're now saying that breadbin wasn't faithful?

Are you implying a bread bin can have a meaningful relation with a toaster?

You sir are a mental!

I definitely thought that standards were slipping when I was at Secondary School.
Especially when the school had it's first Playing field rape.
Ok It might not have been the first, but it was pretty shocking at the time.

That was just a rugby match you big poof!

Getting double bummed in the scrum made me the man I am today.

Never a truer sequence of words spoken. In the history of words, or sequences.
