I'm trying to identify a 60/70s comedy film, but my details are a bit hazy. I know it involved some sort of scavenger/treasure hunt, and was in black/white (I think). The actors I think could have been in it were Alfred Marks/Bob Todd. Possibly Michael Crawford. As I said, I know details aren't up to scratch. I seem to think a lot of money was involved, the reason for the scavenger hunt. Something about getting a London Bobby's helmet seems to stuck in my mind. Hope someone can help me, as it's driving me mad.
Looking for a film
Three Hats for Lisa..?
Well, I think it was in colour but Crawford was in it, and Ollie Reed. Comedy crime caper set in London, and there were policemen in it. The Jokers, about 1967 ish. They're after the crown jewels. Ring any bells?
Info on Three Hats For Lisa here. It does seem like a possibility.
The plot seems to match Three Hats.. yes. You must be mistaking Joe Brown for Michael Crawford.
No, definitely not 3 Hats For Lisa. Almost sure it was in black and white. Not sure about Jokers. Just thought, the actor I thought might be Alfred Marks/Bob Todd, could have been Lionel Jeffries.
No, it was in colour, I thought it was, also no Jefferies, Marx or Todd.
How about two Peter Sellers films, both very good, both black & white, both with Lionel Jefferies in. Two Way Stretch and Wrong Arm Of The Law. Plenty of cops in both.
After scrolling through lists of British Comedies, I've found it. It was You Must Be Joking!, made in 1965, and did star Lionel Jeffries, among others. The hard bit now is finding it. We did have a brochure that was shoved through the door, which did have all sorts of DVDs in it. There were TV series, some old B/W films, and compilations like Norman Wisdom and Sid James. I don't know who the comapny was, but you could order online. So if anyone can help again.
Laughter in Paradise?

Alistair Sim fits your generic old bald bloke profile.
EDIT: Oops, see you have found it. Laughter in Paradise is a film worth catching though.
This link might be of some use.

That film, it appears, has not been released on DVD in the UK. There is this American edition, but whilst not insurmountable there are issues with format of American DVDs, and so it may not be playable on your television.

A number of companies do this. I know which company it is likely to be, but I cannot recommend them as they do not have nearly as extensive a catalogue as they make out, and their website can be a little dodgy. I would advise browsing Amazon instead.

Any good?
Unless this is the dodgy lot Aaron is on about.
Aaron?
No, that's a highly illegal home-made DVD lot I didn't even mention.
Whoops!
Thanks guys. It wasn't so long ago, you could see the odd b/w comedy on BBC2 or Channel4, but I haven't noticed any for ages.
