How does one get reviewed in standup? Page 2

Thanks helpful feedback, I think I need to write a new routine and learn it.

If you really want to get reviewed have a gig where you absolutely die on your hole, Sod's Law will dictate that one of the major comedy critics will be there to witness it.

hmm mastering the power of sod's law

Play up to your obvious strengths which are likeability, confidence and your grasp of the absurd.

Likeability? Are you sure?

Maybe I'll listen.

OK then. Sound quality wasn't great but the "Lucky" joke is not original although I notice you added - or removed - testicles.

I realise it takes a lot of guts to get on stage but I've sat talking with you and you reel off the gags.

Good luck though and keep going.

I was trying to get you into bed...

But yes I see what you mean. I previously over wrote and spent too much of my gag trying to recall my gags.

So nows the time to write enough learn it and up my game.

Can't you write a few prompts on the back of your hand? That could be part of your angle. Especially as you can't spell.

Thing is if you're reading or remembering either way your not focussing on performing.

So I beat my old problem which was memorising and rattling off.

Now I need to combine that with writing sharper stuff.

I've never even attempted it so have no idea of the processes involved so really I shouldn't comment.

Incidentally why is Dyslexia so difficult to spell?

Because it's a punishment from God

you should have a go its fun, its also a great learning tool as a writer
