Romany Jones

I recently bought this new addition to the brilliant Network DVD catalogue.

I thought the first episode was really good, had a really good Two In Clover feel to it. However, the remaining six, though not awful, were incredibly average.

The brilliant James Beck carried the show throughout for me. Without him, I can see it being a dire affair, which is why should Network release the following series, which if I know Network they will do, I will stop my collection come the end of the second series, which was screened posthumously following the death of the wonderful Beck. I predict Series 3 & 4 to have nothing left in them at all.

Anybody else seen the DVD of Series 1?

Not yet, but I do have the first series of spin-off Yus, My Dear, and 'incredibly average' does not strike me as a wholly unfair description.

Have you got to see it yet?

I just got it a few days ago. May try to watch this coming week.

Anyone else been put off watching this by the revelations about Arthur Mullard?

Perhaps a little reluctant. But then I was more put off before by his face.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on this once you've seen it.

Just ordered series 1.

I've still not had a chance to watch. Wonder who'll get there first? :)

Have just finished watching all of series 1. Got to say from the off I thought this was crap. Too much of Bert & Betty and not enough of Wally & Lil. Also, the idea of this set on a caravan site doesn't work all that well. Not going by what I have witnessed so far.

I must confess, I found 'Yus My Dear' much more enjoyable, and yes I know that is saying something.

Anyhow, hope you enjoy it Arron.

Wow, that really is ... something! I'm still struggling to find time, but will be most interested to see what I make of it when I do get the chance.

If Network release Series 3 & 4 then you will see the focus turn more to Wally & Lil as the new couple move on to the site.

Have you by any chance seen series 1 & 2? If so would you say series 2 is an improvement over the first?
