Heh heh. YouTube message from a too-touchy film maker:
"hey there. I wanted to ask that you use a different term than "Folkumentary", as the term has been copywritten since 2010 as the title for a short film and an upcoming feature-length film. As a fellow filmmaker, your mutual respect for pre-existing work is appreciated, as is your help and cooperation."
Followed by a request for me to contribute money to their film.
And 'copywritten'? When did 'written' become the past tense of 'right'?
I wonder if Christopher Guest will be getting an email from him. I'm sure I remember A Mighty Wind being referred to as a 'folkumentary'.
MTV has a folk show called "Folk off" I think.
Possibly. I don't think I've watched MTV since about 1995.
"Folk Off!" is just the audience response to them announcing themselves as Folk On. They tend to steer clear of folk/f**k jokes as they're too easy and don't really fit with the innocence of the characters.
Really liking this. The names sound realistic for folk singers, the snuggen language sounds like it could be real. Love the imagined instrument bit, quite surreal and many other bits. You've got something here. Really nice.
