Collabor8te Short film opp.

Another one off writersroom, just in case people aren't checking it frequently.

This actually looks like a fantastic opportunity. Many thanks for posting!

The only requirements are a script of 15 pages, and a budget of 10,000 pounds. Now, I know nothing about production, so could any bright soul fill me in on what sort of scale we are talking about?

For example, I'd like to have a scene of a character strapped to the underbelly of a Cesna light aircraft... while it's flying. Would that be a complete no-no in terms of the budget limit?

*shrug*, but why take the risk? Instead, can't he be strapped the the back of a Fiat Punto... while it's driving! :)

It does look a good opp. btw.

Lol! I think the Fiat might be the bigger risk in terms of safety! But, you know, I might be able to make something like that work as opposed to the plane. I think that 10 grand ain't gonna leave a lot of room for fancy stunts etc so a car might actually be the way to go.

Thanks!

10k will not go far at all. They'll probably be using a mostly voluntary cast and crew (although people like the electricians have to be paid). But still, it won't get you far. I'm going to keep mine under 10 pages, and limit the locations, number of scenes, and number of actors to as few as possible.

I have a script where I shag Natalie Swahahillia for 15 minutes, I've got a camera on my phone.

Do you think she'd go for £9,998 (still got to pay for the johnnies)

If she fancies a spit roast I'll go halves...

I doubt 10k would cover the insurance.
I feel a re-write coming on.

Could you not strap them to the floor and turn the camera upside down?

Thanks for the advice. I've come up with a different idea set in one location and with no expensive stunts.

Fifteen minutes?

Is it a fantasy then? Whistling nnocently

Only just realised they want a one-sheet for this thing. Hardly seems necessary for a short film.

I haven't gone through their submission process yet, but you're saying it's just a one-page description they're after? I don't have to write the script? It does seem a little strange for such a short film.

Great a contest only open to fictional characters from Bounty adverts.

Yes, a one page max synopsis. And a script. Also a CV.
