Hello,
My name is Graeme, I'm wondering/hoping I have come to the right place...
I'm currently studying for a degree in Audio Engineering at SAE Institute, London and am nearing the end of my final year. For my final project I'm performing an experiment to test the correlation between sound and cognitive function... And for this, I'm looking for some budding comedians.
This will merely entail a 15 or so minute (or more if you'd like) audio recording of you and your material within the next 2-3 weeks. In return, I will happily make your recording podcast-ready so you can use it as a promotional tool should you wish. The recording will take place in a proper recording studio as well where we have access to some wonderful, high-end microphones and should be a great experience too. The studio is in Haggerston, London so ideally London-based comedians would be best suited because of travel.
In case you're wondering about my project (I'll summarise briefly), I'll be doing four tests on cognitive function and for each one a different background ambiance or music will be played: a piece of mozart, nothing (exam conditions), repetitive music (likely to be techno or drum n bass) and something spoken (and distracting) like comedy... which is where you come in. We'll then see whether any of these have an effect on someone's mental math, language skills, short-term memory etc. etc.
If anyone is up for getting involved, your help would be greatly appreciated!
If you're willing to help or would like to know anything more, please feel free to email me: graemehales@live.co.uk
If I have posted in the wrong place, I do apologise, but would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction...
Best,
Graeme Hales
