Whatever Next

A man is in a hurry to board the plane.
There are twenty minutes left.
He keeps looking at his watch.

There is one person left in front of him in the queue.

It is a younger man who is wearing a wacky tartan hat wig combo and a tee shirt that has with a picture of Beethoven with headphones on it.

He is carrying a violin case and is talking on a mobile to his friend in Klingon.

The woman on the check in desk asks him what's in the violin case?.

The young man beams a massive smile as he readies his reply.

While the man who was in a rush just turns round and goes home

I was with this completely, until just
before the last line. Felt it was missing
one final ingredient to let us know that the
guy's answer was gonna be a long one. Just the
first word or two of his answer.

And I loved that little t.shirt detail,
summed up the guy well.

JD the guys a dickhead and is only going to say two words 'Machine Gun' thinking it to be quite unique and hilarious.

The check-in woman is going to totally overreact and despite the fact shes knows that it's not a machine gun she will never the less hit the alarm and the place will be flooded with cops carrying actual machine guns.

The airports is going into lockdown!

There will be no flights in or out for hours

The dickhead is going to be led crying with his hands on his head into the back off an armored police Landrover with his violin being thrown after him.

And the check in woman will watch it all happen from the emergency assembly area while she enjoys a coffee and a smoke with her mates.

That's why he went home.

The joke obviously never worked but I do like the idea of leaving out the punchline, so I will try this format again and see if I can crack it.

I didn't get on the first read that he was about to say he had a machine gun..maybe if he held the case up in a comical way and pointed it at the clerk.

I didn't get it maybe it's too high brow for me, but I could only find an emoticon with one high brow, the one with two high brows is this one and that's just not how I feel at all. makes me wonder why they call it high brow in the first place.

I did get it first time.
I think it might work as a gag in something longer, but for me It doesn't quiet stand on it's own.
