It's a dog's life...

INT. VETS SURGERY

Bobo the Clown:
He's been part of my act for over 20 years, are you sure there nothing you can't do for him?

Vet:
I'm sorry, Bobo, he's very old, his legs are arthritic, incurable mange, going blind, the kindest thing I could do would be to put him down.

Bobo bends down, pats the dog, gives him a kiss, wipes a tear from his eye and leaves.

INT. VETS WAITING ROOM

Vet: (O.S)
You can't sing, you can't dance and your acting is f**king shite...

i think I need to know what O.S means

i think I need to know what O.S means

It's screenwriting speak for 'off screen'...

Bobo was in the waiting room but he could hear the vet's (O.S.) comments coming from the surgery...

i was thinking it would be something like that. very good

Works for me!

Hey Zed, Your stuff is crisp, funny and to the point more often than not.

But, maybe it's late, Ive read this a few times and... You know the bit in the film 'BIG' when the boyfriend guy is making an obvious presentation in the meeting and Tom Hanks puts his hand up and says 'I Don't Get It' and everyone stares at him because he's an idiot, and the boyfriend guy making making the presentation wants him dead?

Yeah well :$

It does feel like an old Chestnut.
But It works just fine.

Made me LOL.

My suggestion is to change the last line to something a bit more dog-related eg. You can't sing, you can't dance and your begging is woeful. Don't turn those puppy dog eyes on me...' etc.

Ahhhhhh, everything makes sense now... "Put Him Down"

Excuse my stupidity.

AHHHHH!! I get it now!!

Lol!! Lost in the written form to muppets like me, and apparently Jack. High five buddy :D

It does feel like an old joke but nothing wrong with that.

Thanks everybody...(no dogs were harmed in the making of this sketch)
