STEWART LEE AND ARMANDO IANNUCCI ARE DOING THEIR Q&A BIT
IANNUCCI:
Do you want to touch on the Michael McIntyre issue? Some people believe that you constantly insult him because you're jealous of his rapid rise to fame.
LEE:
Fame is not something I crave. In all honesty, I'm not looking for any new fans.
IANNUCCI:
Then why did you fill your recent television series with material from your previous DVD's. That can't have been for your existing fans?
LEE:
Well maybe I would like some new fans, but just not the type who appreciate Michael McIntyre's verbal diarrhea. They're a different set of fish entirely.
IANNUCCI:
There is a distinct difference. Your fans nod along in quiet appreciation while Michael's laugh.
LEE:
Observational comedy. Not my cup of tea.
IANNUCCI:
So why the jealousy of McIntyre then? Is it because of his wealth?
LEE:
I don't care about money; I do a lot of good work for charity.
IANNUCCI:
That sounds like a Harry Enfield bit; it's off to 'plagiarist's corner' with you.
LEE:
It's a fair cop. It is a fair cop. A fair cop, it clearly is.
