I didn't appreciate there were meant to have been two facebook messages at first. I don't think the idea translates very well tbh. Also the forehead shadow doesn't look quite right, making it seem as if it is concave. Do you write these or is Chappers your chief writer?

Strip cartoons should be clear and to the point, easy to understand. Take Peanuts or Hagar for example. You may not laugh or even smile at the joke, but at least you know what the joke is.
This effort is far too ambiguous.

Fair enough I can totally understand what your talking about.
I write some Chappers does some. Normally if it's geeky and unpopularthat's mine lol!

Ok. Thats a really good point. Maybe I have become a little to ambitious and am not doing the medium justice. Not, it's not animation. Cheers Don.
Wise words. It's the transition that isn't clear. I think it needs the guy to do, say, or hold something that suggests the new trailer/film, rather than wear a full outfit - albeit that is a nice visual.
You could also make more of the crossed-purposes with dialogue - e.g. "this baby is a biggie", etc.
How about,
Something like a simple opening line.
Mike
"It's Finally arrived!"
I don't get this. I take it I need to watch the trailer...
Great drawings!

Kinda yeh. It's got a bit of a niche appeal hence loads of love on the geeky side twitter and FB not so much here on the...I dunno normals?
I told it was too geeky for general release! Still love it though.

The point is that it's NOT geeky.
The point is that it does not explain itself, so that people did not get the joke.
If you hadn't explained it, I honestly thing 95% of people would have been dumbfounded.
Imagine the same strip this way...
Panel 1
"Oh Gosh!! Have you seen what Laura and Dave posted on their wall?"
"Their new baby? yeah - awesome!"
panel 2
"No - the new Batman Rises trailer - it looks AMAZING!"
Panel 3
"I hadn't noticed..."
