three sketches for me. newsjack film about fox and werritty, iran power plant sketch and interview with kenny clarke
Newsjack - Series 5 Page 54
One sketch -- poor Euro countries being flogged on QVC. Pathetic and highly unlikely not to have been done before. Just fancied a pirate there.
I've just sent off two pages worth of one liners - all of which I'm very happy with.
They'll probably all be rejected though!
Just one sketch from me this week which I've uploaded in the critique section. It follows news that people are suffering from Text Neck after looking down at their mobiles for too long, so I put a 24 spin on it. Go ahead and read it if you like!
I think the idea is to have it rejected first. Or is that where I'm going wrong ?
I think that's just for the one liner rejects thread. I'm optimistic it isn't going to get on but I'm on holiday as of tomorrow night so was just wondering what people thought of it
I don't think posting pre-recording is a problem, people just tend to post them after they know it's not getting on the show. That's just me at least, anyway!

Bollox. I came out of retirement after Episode 4 to do a Macca wedding sketch - but they'll easily put "Julia" ahead of that - have already used her this series haven't they? Personally I didn't think it was that funny after the first time (reporter craves real news, only given royal stuff) - but they like a runner, don't they? Sigh. Think my Eric Clapton gag was too eclectic anyway.

Well he is an eclectic guitarist.
After a week away I'm back in the NJ game (still submitted last week but writing partner should take more credit for last week's efforts).
No-one else seems to have covered the stories I did so that's probably a good thing, right? Mine were on Burberry releasing a music single, Theresa May copying a UKip speech and the rugby player jumping from a ferry. (You'll find them all just below the EU Toy Safety directive story on the BBC website)
And all a bit late but just listened to last week's show and really enjoyed it - I preferred it to last week's show. Congrats to all those who got something on.
One news story that others may not have noticed was that a church is refusing to change lightbulbs because of the cost. Cue obvious joke (and not a "how many does it take to change a lightbulb" one!)
My one liners are sent as I'll be too busy at work tomorrow to continue writing there. Got a couple of funnier ones this week, seemed easier to come up with.
Agree with StephenM, this weeks was a corker (finally listened yesterday).
Struggled this week. Usually I have ideas for a dozen quickies even if they don't come to anything but I could only muster three in the end. Anyway, good luck one and all!
A few one liners sent off. Did everyone do a Paul McCartney?? Good luck everyone.

If everyone did I'm even doubt my Julia sketch will be on. Chances are one of the regular commissioned writers will get the honours of covering that.
You're probably right Ian, but worth a go all the same...'thumbs aloft' Macca style
