Newsjack - Series 5 Page 35

I've mentioned Eric Pickles in a sketch. Is he a good fall guy, or is it just his surname that gets the laugh ? Naturally, for Jeremy Hunt, it IS all in the name.

At a protest march against tory cuts (should there be an 'n' in there somewhere?), I saw a placard with the slogan "Eric Pickles ate my youth club".

It was the wittiest placard in saw that day.

Hi All,
i think the "News" element in this type of satirical sketch show is irrelevant. like the "News" Huddlines and "News" revue, most sketches only pay scant lip service to the "News" item they're parodying. What the directors, producers, script editors et al, on all these shows are looking for is "funny." Any funny sketch that has a thin and tenuous connection to current events has a chance of being used. A factual unfunny one won't.

You won't get paid until a couple of weeks after the final episode of the series. They sort out all the payments for the series once it's finished.

If you do get on and they pay you, what are the payment methods?
Can you ask them to send out a cheque? I'm not all that keen on emailing out bank details across an unsecure link.

...or am I just being paranoid?

You funny.

Well done by the way Frantically, I loved that Dinosaur sketch.

Actually, what method are you getting paid by?

Lazarus, last series - for me anyway - they asked for bank details and put it straight into my bank account but I'm sure they'd be happy to send you a check if you ask them.

A little bit.
There isn't a great deal anyone could do with just a sort code & account number.
And if there is then let me know as I see loads of them everyday.

Thanks Lazarus. But actually I had to pay them to get it on. It's a great way to get noticed - expensive, but...

...I've said too much.

I was paid by bank transfer - the only disavantage is you can't photocopy it, frame it and hang it in the downstairs toilet where everyone will see it.

NB Or downstairs toilet has no curtains.

Laughing out loud

Thanks for the info folks.

As always, good luck for tomorrow everybody.
