Great standalone sketches will always beat tepid interview sketches! And the more ways you can get away from simply "Justin talks to Person", the better...
Newsjack - Series 5 Page 10
My sketch hasn't come to me properly and my film trailer is RUBBISH.
I've got a few for apps and a couple of "and finally" bits that I like though, they'll get sent tomorrow night, with any more that come to me in the meantime.
Quote: Park Bench @ September 10 2011, 7:06 AM BSTFor my last ditch sketch, I'm on my way to the Thames with a live shark.
I think the sewage will get him first.
Well, 1 sketch and 4 one-liners sent.
Always good to have a Newsjack deadline breathing down my neck. Hope nothing of any significance happens over the next 24 hours!
Only had time to write one sketch out of the three I thought of. I don't usually subnit sketches though - seems easier to get a gag on.
3 sketches whazzed off and a Newsjack autoreply in my inbox.
Bah! No autoreply for me.
Still got a couple of hours. However, desperately fighting the urge to do the obvious punchline over the research that people are more depressed on a monday than any other day of the week... Popes, Bears etc.

I read that article and thought...hmm, that's most of my stuff scrapped then!
I was thinking of sending in some oneliners, is it frowned upon to just send these without any sketches?

Not at all - most people send their sketches and one-liners in separately anyway (well, I do!) due to the differing deadlines - they're not going to be bothered if you've sent in one and not the other.
Thanks, that's good to know.
Newsjack away!
One must atleast say one has tried, before one can say they have failed.
First ever submission has just been pinged. Awaiting the auto-rejection. I mean response. One sketch, about Eddie Murphy hosting Oscars. Tonight, pub and one-liner brainstorming.
I've sent my three sketches off just now.
2 sketches sent, gave up on a third as it was just turning out shit. A little bit hairy towards the end, for some reason the computer in work was not letting me attach files. Had to rush around to the office next door find free computer to log on to. All sorted now though.
