The Spicer Life - Episode One: The Placement

Image

The first of six radio monologues with my character Jeremy Spicer.

Episode One: The Placement - Jeremy returns from his week long work experience placement at the BBC eager to make his name in broadcasting but a series of unfortunate run in's with Jeremy Paxman may put pay to Jeremy's fledgling broadcasting career.

Yup same message here. EMI are after you James!

Is James Cotter one of these internet pirates I keep hearing about?!

The link is working now sorry about that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMBgWFuQVKU

This is really rather good.

A nice funny little intro story which tells us everything about the character.

Cappuccino line is a little ott.

But overall this is top notch.

Pacman is decent,

Presentation a little monotone

Who is he actually talking to?

:D Trying to find the faint emotion but can't so will use the smiley one. Thank you very much. Obviously some of the material has been covered before but there's enough new stuff in there to enjoy. Took on board the credits and have ditched them. What did mean OTT which regards to cappuccino line?

Nice line from Andrew that one.

Okay I can undertsand that but will try to work on it.

Whoever is listening.

I think a little line to say who he is, maybe nothing more than

"Hi you're listening to Jeremy Spicer on XFM"

It's more a monologue than a radio broadcast.

It's a good performance, James, but it's severely lacking in laughs for a comic monologue. I got about 5 minutes in and was bored, so think you need a bit more of a gripping story in there.

At lot of this episode is about re-introducing Jeremy and setting up the series though saying that there are some nice gags in there especially in the last 3 and half minutes ;)

It was funny Ben, some very nice well developed gags from character.

Well it's subjective, SootyJ. I listened for five minutes and didn't smirk. Saying that, I can't even remember the last time anything in Critique made me laugh...

Judgemental prick.

Honest is the word, JD.
